Global South African, Jill Ritchie, is the UK’s go-to person for anyone wanting to assist non-profits in South Africa. Aside from this being her ‘real’ work, Jill goes out of her way to help wherever she can. She truly ‘Plays her Part’ and is our obvious winner of this Award for 2017.
Volunteerism
I have had the honour of volunteering for numerous non-profit organisations over the years. Aside from those whose boards I serve on, my currently volunteer for:
67 Blankets
I help to make blankets in South Africa and scarves for the UK arm of this wonderful initiative in honour of Nelson Mandela.
Mazi Housing
I provide voluntary advice/consulting/mentoring/training to the wonderfully committed fundraising team.
Soroptimists International
Like my Soroptomist Sisters globally, I assist in fundraising initiatives within my local group as well as advising and supporting charity partners of sister clubs.
The Funding Network
As a member and enthusiastic supporter, I seek out guests to take to TFN’s incredible events and also, occasionally volunteer in their selection process.
